If you're out of work and struggling to re-enter the workforce, it can feel overwhelming. You may wonder what career is best for you, how to get started in college, or how you're going to pay for re-training in a new field. Pierce College can help.

Pierce College's workforce programs are designed to help you reach new career goals. Because Pierce offers local training for local businesses and industries, we have been able to develop programs that work for this area. Also, Pierce understands that not everyone's situation is the same. We can help find the program that works for you and your family, and give you the support you need to succeed.

Here are some of the programs available at Pierce College:

  • Job Connections. With offices at both Pierce Fort Steilacoom and Pierce Puyallup, Job Connections provides access to job search resources and job boards, help with resumes and interview skills, and assessment tools that can help you choose the career path most suited to your talents and interests.
  • Worker retraining. This state-funded financial assistance program for unemployed and dislocated workers, and homemakers seeking to re-enter the workforce, can fund tuition and expenses for one quarter of job training.
  • WorkFirst. Also a state-funded financial assistance program, WorkFirst is for low-income working parents and those receiving cash help from the Department of Social and Health Services. This program also offers a work study option to help students earn extra money while attending job training classes.
